Topic: Small business opportunities for residents and e-residents. Mari-Liis Hirv and her business; Kerli Varrik and Entrepreneur account; Nele Eller in Video presentation: Handcraft and Ukrainians; Annely Adamson and Palade School; Discussion
Presentations about the small business offer in Kärdla were very convincing, people's determination and faith in the future of their business pleased them.
An inspiring and relevant presentation about how to start one’s own business, which can certainly be an opportunity for the Ukrainian refugees.
Especially the part with Annely Adamson and the Palade School was interesting. She very much showed the specific challenges that arises when trying to communicate without a shared language. These challenges are also very much present at the library since it is not only Ukrainian children that are lacking English skills - also a lot of their parents who we are meeting at the libraries.
All 3 presentations were good.
As an organizer, I liked that people came to the place with whom it had agreed.

Meeting with and about Ukrainians in Käina Library (Heli Tuisk, municipality)
The meeting with the Ukrainian, it must be said, "Ukrainian community" on Hiiumaa Island was surprising: quite a lot people came who wanted to ask questions that interested them, which in turn gave the librarians the opportunity to tell what libraries can help
The meeting was good and thought-provoking. It was clear that the Ukrainians have a need for information about various support options from the Estonian authorities. Basic needs must be met before the need for culture and the library arises
It is always very important that we actually get to meet the Ukrainians when doing these seminars. The general program was full of those meetings which was very nice. At this meeting I would have liked if the standard language was English. Hence meaning that all questions was being asked in English, answered in Ukrainian or Russian and then translated into English again. That would have made it much easier for all to take part and understand what was being said.
It was hard to follow because most was in russian i think!? And it didn't all get translated
Maybe we should have thought more about what to talk to the Ukrainians. But to be honest, we didn't think that any Ukrainians would come there at all. I thought that only the municipality's social worker would come and we would talk to him. One of the Ukrainians was upset that foreigners came, as she allegedly did not know. But pain points emerged from this meeting, which again the municipality did not know and which are a challenge for them.
Triinu Schneider and her small business visit (apple orchard and horses in Kassari)
Taking care of the father's house, horses, apples, juice, building a business from what is given. Optimism and strength radiated from this business owner. Just learn!
The visit to Triinu Schneider: her horse farm and nunnery was a great experience
Was very interesting. The Ukrainian man working there seemed very delighted about being there
Really good and different experience
She is involved in three areas: horses, apple orchard and swimming lessons. He is very versatile and hardworking.
Aino ja Oskar Kallas summer house in Kassari
We experienced a very informative review of the summer house of the prominent Estonian writer (1878-1956) Aino Kallas and a discussion about Estonian literature and personalities at the beginning of the 19th century. And we want to return to the island to visit the memorial room of another writer or cultural worker next time.
Very rewarding. Interesting to hear about a great female writer who is largely unknown in Denmark. I have just ordered her story about "The Wolf Bride" from the Danish Royal Library
Also very interesting
Never heard of her, so it was great to gain knowledge about her
It was boring for me. I didn't know this house was so out of hand.
